New Release from Epson
LONG BEACH, Calif. – June 3, 2014 – Epson today announced its new WorkForce® business printing solutions featuring 11 models powered by PrecisionCore™, the company’s next generation printing technology. These WorkForce models produce print-shop quality color prints, laser-sharp black and color text, and fast print speeds at up to half the printing cost of color laser1 for a range of business environments. Because every model is powered by PrecisionCore, users will experience the same high level print quality no matter which printer they choose.
“WorkForce printers powered by PrecisionCore deliver true performance beyond laser, opening the doors to unrestricted color printing,” said Nils Madden, marketing director, Desktop Imaging and Printing, Epson America, Inc. “With the high image quality, fast print speeds and lower printing costs that WorkForce printers provide, there is no reason for small businesses to consider color lasers again.”
Blazingly Fast, High Quality Prints at a Lower Printing Cost over Color Lasers
The new line of printers includes the WorkForce series for SOHO users; WorkForce Pro printers for SMBs and workgroups; and WorkForce wide format for larger paper and scanning sizes typically used by architects, engineers and designers. All WorkForce printers offer several advantages over color laser, such as true-to-life color for consistent tones and colors on all paper types – plain, matte and glossy, as well as faster first page out speed with no warm-up time and without incurring the high cost of supplies inherent with color lasers.
The process by which PrecisionCore print chips increase print speeds is two-fold. The print chips are comprised of a higher number of nozzles in a more condensed area, resulting in more ink flow. Because the print chips are scalable, they can be combined to deliver more ink and boost print speed. The printers are available in two-chip and four-chip configurations, and offer up faster color print speed over previous models.
All WorkForce models are equipped with Ethernet, wireless, and Wi-Fi Direct®2 functionality, offering easy printing from mobile devices across a range of operating systems as well as through Epson Connect They also offer automatic two-sided print, copy, scan and fax functionality3, and intuitive color touchscreen control panels3.
WorkForce Pro 5000-Series for Networked Business Environments
The WorkForce Pro WF-5690 (multifunction) and WF-5190 (single function) deliver heavy duty and reliable performance with low running costs in networked environments. With its four-chip configuration, the series delivers up to 50 percent lower printing cost versus color laser1, fast print speeds of 20 ISO ppm (black) and 20 ISO ppm (color) †, and a duty cycle of up to 45,000 pages per month6. Businesses will experience less user intervention with two-sided printing, high cartridge yield and up to 580-sheet paper capacity.
Additional features include IT tools such as remote setup and custom settings for multiple printers, and support for popular security protocols to protect confidential documents. The printers support PCL and PostScript, and a best-in-class three-year limited warranty.
